got any dog stories?
I'll start: one of my dogs, Herbie, has figured out how to climb onto the stools in the kitchen, get onto the counter, and eat whatever's up there. yesterday, he dumped the trash over and had a great buffet spread all over the counter and kitchen. we put the trash up on the counter because he figured out how to open the cabinet door under the sink, even with child safety locks on it.
this is the same dog who nosed his way into the fridge one night (it wasn't closed all the way) and ate a whole pizza and a fried chicken.
he's a beagle.
of course, now we have to put all the stools up on the counter.
Our corrugated box salesman just stopped by and brought his boxer with him. The boxer just urinated in my office doorway. I think I might get a discount on this order.

I taught my old dog, Lazarus, (when he was still a pup) to climb up the ladder and slide down the slide at the park next to where we lived. As he got bigger it was harder, but I could still get him to do it. The kids in the area were so impressed by it, they would come by my house and knock on the door to ask, "can Lazarus come out and play?".

 my dogs are cute but they are chihuahuas..one of them "Jersey" think he is sooo tough, but in fact anything would scare him! everytime I take him for a walk and the leash handle gets out of my hand, he runs crying and keep running looking back to see what is following him, everytime! he runs back to me and hides from the "mean" leash!

We have two Shih Tzu pups that are sisters, 6 months apart. The smaller one can climb the barrier fence and hop to the other side, while her older sister just stares at her in jealous amazement. I am also teaching them how to dance for treats. Pebbles, the older, can stand, walk and pirouette for 30-40 seconds when she concentrates. Cocoa, the baby, can manage about 10 seconds.
Sassy, our German shepherd fakes peeing.
when we go out in the evening before bed we tell her
"Go pee" and then we go back in and she gets a good night biscuit.
When she doesn't have to go she squats, does nothing and
comes prancing to the door knowing there's a cookie for her

No pee, no cookie. Start pretending to give her a cookie when she pretends to pee.:D

When we went to pick our first dog, Wheatley, we owned 2 rats. we decided it would be best to be sure he got along with them before we made a final decision. We went to the ASPCA shelter and introduced him to the rats. No problems at all. But then within minutes one of the rats was riding him like man would ride an elephant.
Next we got a kitten whose mother had been killed. Wheatley raised the kitten. He would carry it just like a cat carries her kittens or a dog it's pups. When the cat was grown it got into a fight outside our window (of course at 2 in the morning). There are doggy door between the garage and the kitchen and also between the garage and the outside. This is at the far end of the house. Wheatley jumped up and ran the length of the house and through both doggy doords without slowing down (it sounded like he broke down both doors, he hit them so hard). A couple of seconds later no cat fight. I can still picture Grendal (the cat) grooming himself and saying 'so you came to a cat fight and didn't bring a dog'.
We currently have 2 dogs and one cat. Wheatley is the alpha male. Joey however is far from a pushover, he is 105 lbs. of lean muscle. At 5 years old he still thinks he is a puppy. (heck Wheatley is 12 and acts like a puppy, in hte good way, much of the time). Our current cat is afraid of everything. Except the 2 dogs. He has been known to steal food out of their bowls while they are eating.
Oh and Wheatley is deathly afraid of water. He actually was afraid of quite a bit when we got him. The first time he did something wrong and I yelled at him he was so scared he p1ssed on hte floor right where he was. We are convinced he was abused before the ASPCA got him. Joey on the other hand loves the water. AS far as I know Wheatley has only once in his life voluntarilly gone in the pool. Joey had a hot spot and we had one of those collar things that makes so a dog can't bite at himself. Joey went swimming and got in trouble. Wheatley went in to help.

Once when I was younger, my dad was walking the dog. A much larger male dog decided he wanted to get some. He mounted my dog, so my dog backed out from underneath it, and bit into his scrotum. My dad swears he heard flesh rip. There was visibly blood on her mouth too. The would be ****** doggy went off yelping:D
My room mate's dog is a pitbull who is scared of plastic bags, laundry baskets, and my doumbek.
oh and I forgot metal tongs. Now THAT is funny.
I've always wanted a dawg (http://www.konaworld.com/bikes/2k7/DAWGPRIMO/index.html) but never could afford one :(

"Blitz". [All dogs in my hometown got German names. . .folks too, for that matter.]
He was a German Shorthaired. It was the "old days" and dogs all ran the neighborhood. Well, old Blitz had the butt of the neighbor woman. Speaking of butt, she was well provided thereof and Blitz bit her thereon one fine day. [We later learned the top and bottom teeth marks were 10 inches apart! That dog had a big gape!!] Anyhoo, Mr. Butt* roars up to the back door and encounters me in my most immature-early-teen-smarta$$ period. Says Mr. Butt, "Do you know your dog bit my wife". Yep, you guessed it, I countered, "No, but if you hum a few bars. . .". We d@mn near got sued. My dad made me LEAP to the foot of that guy's Cross and beg forgiveness for my sorry a$$ and Blitz's a$$ while I was at it.
'Nother time, Blitz brings home a cooked ham [still warm]. I grab the ham and me'n Blitz go Ninja-fashion all over the neighborhood, 'til we find the source. . .Liz Churchey's car port. . .tumbled plate, rumpled towell, and a greasy trail. We put it back and faded into the late afternoon. . .Blitz looking like he lost the Crusades single-handed.
Later we learned from Liz's neighbor that there was also a pot of bean soup cooling on her porch and ol' Blitz had nosed up the lid, took a lick, and let the lid back down. . .before bagging the ham.
I loved that dog. He really knew what he was about.
* - Not his real name. Rest assured, it was a German one.

Our dog, Jack used to love to be vaccuumed! He'd insist on it at least one time a week until spring, then when he started shedding for summer, he'd want it as often as possible! You'd know when he wanted it because he'd drag the shopvac out of the utility room!

My dog, a rambunctious Irish setter was two years old at the time this happened. It was the day before my thirteenth birthday and my mom and I made a huge, elaborate homemade chocolate birthday cake and left on a high counter, far back from the edge, under the cupboards. During the night, my dog jumped up on the counter and at almost the whole thing!! We woke up the next morning to find the kitchen spread with chocolate and frosting and I was horrified at first, but I find it really hard to get mad at my dog. We had to buy a cake for the party...
I have two mixes that were in the pen with me. They were playing with a ball and then started attacking each other. Blood was flying everywhere and I got really scared that one of them was going to die. So, I jumped right into a dog fight. Had some giant punctures (I think 6 or 7) around my ankle and two more large ones in my hand. I think I did the right thing. They were pretty messed up, but both survived.

One of my dogs, a shepherd/rottie/who knows what else mix, used to have separation anxiety. When left alone too long (which could be just five minutes on some days!), he would eat non-edibles. Like books that would be destroyed and strewn all over the house. And CDs---I found, uh, LETTERS in his poo afterward: Hmmm, this looks like it was a Nine Inch Nails CD! And the entire Wagner Ring Cycle as well!
Once found an empty package of razor blades on the floor. Finally found blades in a separate location, unswallowed. Remarkably, he had no cuts from that little adventure.
Interestingly, he only ate my husband's stuff, never mine!
Same dog also rolled in nasty nasty poo when we were hiking one day in the mountains. Nothing to wipe it off with, so I had to drive home with him stinking in the back seat, me with my fingers crossed that he wouldn't get it all over my car. Both I and my other dog spent the 30-minute drive with our heads hanging out the window for fresh air, valiently fighting the gag reflex. Got home, and absolutely no poo was on the car! A miracle.

My folks have a house on an acre of land. The back fense is very old, welded wire with a mesh about 2" by 4". Again very old and beaten down so in tilted toward my folks yard. One of hte back fense neighbors had a couple of Weimaraners. They took advantage of the fense being bent and got in our yard and bothered the cats. They made a pass at Lucky, our black attack cat. He swipped at them with his claws. They made a second pass, same results. They made a third pass and Lucky swung and then chased. But now the fense was bent the wrong way and the poor dogs could not get back out. I had to lift them over the fense before the cat tore them apart.
A couple of years later when I was in college we gave a friends dog from college sanctuary (if campus security got him one more time it was the pound for him). The dog was well know for chasing cats. So I take him home and walk in the front door and there is Lucky. Both animals decided the other one was with me and was therefore OK. Never any problems. Somewhere along the way I ended up with a Squirrel (fell out of the tree and in saving him from the cats got enough scent on him that his mother would not take him back). He got along fine with the cats and dog.
