OK, I'm starting a new project from scratch and I'm gathering a parts list.

Where can I find a Chrome (not polished) seapost?

they aren't THAT uncommon on xmart bikes. you can probably get the whole bike used and ditch everthing but the post for around the price of a nice one. Why you'd want a heavy as **** seatpost is the question that begs answering.

On a lot of low end bike boom bikes from yard sales.

Just doing a little research, that's all.

I was wondering if some specialty company like Vanilla, Seven, or whatever made one.

Most steel seatposts are just posts with the crappy Clampy-thing attachment. Garbage.

Lots of BMX companies make quality steel posts, but they're all 25.4mm and black.

if you can track down an old primo rod or something, im pretty sure those come in chrome (but theyre heavy...) http://www.bionicsports.com/acatalog/primo_rod_seat_post.jpg

or odyssey intac, which come in 25.4 and 27. They are aluminum im pretty sure, and decent wieght. Email Chris Costonas @ odyssey and they might have some sitting around the factory. Otherwise I dont think they make chrome stuff anymore. http://kaitaya.com/html/seatpost/SP-ODY/SP-ODY.jpg

There are some other comanies that do chrome seatposts (bmx companies) but they are all rip offs and most dont do chrome anymore. Good luck!

..seatpost will get clamped and unclamped multiple time, plated surface is just a thin layer of metal on the surface, it will eventually crack.. it's might not be suitable...

yeah - Carleton, I would shoot for high-polishing instead. Better than cracking, ya?
