Recumbent - Just stole ANOTHER recumbent!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For those newly interested in recumbents, I have to say; KEEP LOOKING!
I just aquired ANOTHER 'bent yesterday.
A Tour Easy with rack, bags AND a fairing with about 200 miles on it...
$650!
Good thing I have a 2 car garage. Otherwise I might be forced to SELL some of these fine horses!
Anyone else out there finding good deals?

How do you find these deals? I'm saving up, but have enough to have covered that.

Diligence (sp?), patience & finagaling!
...and a little LUCK!
The Tour Easy was owned by a gentleman who had aquired an ICE X2 on ebay. He and his wife had already gotten separate 'bents at the time. Once they were convinced the X2 was going to be all they needed, they decided to off the other two. The wifes EZ1 went first, for about $250. It took awhile before he decided to get rid of the TE. He mentioned to me that he decided to go ahead and sell the TE for about $650. So I JUMPED on that deal right away!
The Greenspeed GTX I got last year was posted on the LBS bulletin board for $2,900. I took the number but didn't call for about 4-5 MONTHS. Odd, he still had it when I finally DID call. So we haggled and he went down to FINAL OFFER of $1,900! I ended up giving him 2 grand even, cuz it was a nice round number.
The story I got was that he had purchased it for his son for college. I guess he didn't ASK his son before hand. And kids these days are either TOTALLY into it (probably LESS than 5%) OR....
Wouldn't be caught DEAD anywhere near such a contraption!!!
Guess his son was the latter.
FINE BY ME!!!!!!!!! I'm not gonna ask questions! Just pay & GO!
And I'm certain it wasn't HOT, as the seller is a local POLICE SGT!!
Good luck & keep saving.
One of my favorite sayings is...READY MONEY!!
If I come across any duplicate bents, I'll let you know!

I bought my 1st recumbent this summer, a Bike E with custom handlebars, storage bag, blinkie, kickstand, and headlight for $300. I found out later that the accessories alone, were worth over $150. I rode it about 2000 miles this summer, and finally had to replace the rear tire.

Thanks Anni, It's so tough to decide, especially with all the trikes that will be there! I usually decide the morning of the ride, so we'll just have to see then! Are you & daughter bringing your tandem?
Decisions, decisions!?! See you there!:D
