I have come up with a reading methodology that may help people who have problems reading.
Background: One day, while sitting on the toilet, I was reading a book. I found that reading the book while sitting on the toilet was quite pleasant. I forgot that I was even sitting there. I didn't even notice any sounds or smells. It was just pure and simple reading comprehension.
Results: As a result, I observed that this process may have some merrit. So I came up with some useful terminology to help document it.
Terms:
TRD: Toilet Reading Dynamic(s). The technique of reading a book or other material while sitting in a chair in the same fashion as if sitting on a toilet. Typically, the readers forearms will be resting on the thighs, while the book is held up using both hands. The reader will be leaning slightly foward in such a way as to not rest on the back of the chair. Essentially this technique can be applied anywhere that a person can easily sit down, and where the thights are mostly parallel to the ground as to permit a stable area to rest the forearms to facilitate a suitable TRD.
In step with the concepts presented by TRD, a similar process was devised to help with comprehension.
SML: Sequential Material Learning. The process of repeating TRD sessions in order to maximize learning. The word Material was used because there is no clear boundaries for what the reader may be trying to learn while using the TRD technique, but it is certain that a user can gain some benefit by using the SML process.
