Just supposing,
Say there was a case in which there was a family, 3 minors. The mother assaults the oldest daughter (17). Physically restraining her, taking away the phone to call police, closing all windows so screams are not heard. Also, she deliberately harms an injured shoulder (possibly a rotary tear).

An offer today confirms that the parent is looking at charges of assault "for starters".
How lond does it usually take for action involving the parent to actually occur? IN general is all

Too long. (Sorry I can't tell you, but that's one messed up situation you've been sucked into.) Support, but don't instigate.

I thought you called Child Protective Services a long time ago. Why wasn't she taken care of already?

Nope, but an unhappy event occured last night with her. I was pulled out of class for 1 hour being interviewed by the police (as a partial witness). Apparently her story and mine are completely consistent. She was taken out of most of her classes, speaking to all sorts of people on the phone w/ police, her guidance counselor, and oddly enough my physics teacher.

I think things are starting to roll...

I did not call child protection services, but rather went to the police to report one thing. Nothing came from it, except that it as on file. That would be the second report regarding them in the town of Dover, one being several years ago.
I got her to meet with her guidance counselor asking for help, she has been meeting w/ her counselor for about a month now. The counselor being cautious, gathering information. Last nights events just was a minor catalyst. Today some prominent people discovered quite a few "Oh by the ways"...

Cautious and carefull builds a better case as along as risk isn't imminent! All I can say is watch and be ready to make a rescue call, PC! Continue to be a good friend and stay available to help her with the aftermath as well!

Phantom, its hard to say, but if there is violence involved, I would think they would act pretty soon.

Hang in there and let the authorities do their work. The physics teacher actually approached the cops; he's probably wondering if you've been cheating on your homework... ;)

Heh. In all actuality, he promotes the use of other sources to get help, the use of TiCalculator programs if you can program to check your work over, stuff like that. As long as you can document every process in the test, you are good to go.

Need more and more teachers like that.

Just thought I would say, she is at last out of that house as of ~8:00 tonight. She is with a close friends family, who are going to be adopting her from what I understand. This is a new chapter in her life for sure. The new family is a normal family, who support.
