Hopefully by the new year I'll have a new bike and the Haro V5 caught my eye (same price range as the Rockhopper comp disc which I'm also looking at). From the little info I've found, it seems that the Haro V5 is a pretty good bike. Anyone have any experience with the Haro V5 or with Haro bikes in general?

Yes i own a 05 haro shift r3. I have had to do a lot of stuff to my bike, 2 derrailluers, 3 casssetes and chains, 3-4 derailluer hangers, a new rim, i shortened the stem, i recently started to do my own work on the bike because its gets really expensive. Haro also has two different derailluer hangers for their bikes (idiotic) so if you need a new one get the right one

Derailluers, cassettes, and really have nothing to do with the bike brand. I had a Haro Extreme X2 and It was a pretty good bike for the $$$. I did have a weld in the swing arm crack but they replaced it. It just took a while to get here.
