So an off-camber turn is one thing, but going down a hill to an off-camber turn back up the same hill is really freaking hard! Any suggested tech to get through it without losing too much momentum to make going back up a serious leg burner and/or a clumsy stop and carry?

Thanks!

If the ascent is steep enough so you will need to dismount and carry, then it's best to start your dismount early as you head down the slope.

Step off running well before the bottom of the curve, so you give yourself enough room to slow down and make the corner without over-shooting it. Otherwise, you lose a whole hell of a lot of time and momentum by braking, dismounting, travelling too far down the slope, and then having to climb back up again.

This is one case in which having the skills to dismount and remount from either side of the bike really comes in handy.

^^ yea I agree. Practice riding down longish descents on your left pedal ready to dismount.

A lot of cross obstticals lke this are depndant on your situation in the race. For example when there is a bunch up in the field for the first few laps it may be prudent to dismount and run the whole thng rather then wait in line to slow pedal through it.
