Finally, I completed my first century, and I was solo. I completed 100.6 miles in 6 hours and 20 minutes. It was a pretty hilly course, and towards the end, it didn't take long for the lactic acid to burn in my quads on the climbs, but I made it. It was fun, but I'm tired now.

It's a nice feeling to know you've conquered 100 miles in a very respectable time. This puts you in a very elite group. Congrats!

Thanks guys, and good luck to those of you planning your first! I don't know yet about a double century, I still have a ways to go before that one! I will be in Boone, NC on Friday, I plan on doing a century again there. This sport is spiked with something addictive

Now that you have your first century under your belt, you're about ready to take on the L.A. to Savannah, GA race, which I think the winner does in about 7 days. You ride 22 hours a day, but you get 2 hours off! :D
