just bought a Carrera Hercules T9RC (stock picture below). unlike this pic, mine has black handlebar tape and a black seat. i want to style it up with color. already own yellow crank bros candy pedals and plan to use them. are there any unwritten rules re colors of handlebar tape, saddles, water bottle cages and tires? like they should match? any thoughts or advice? i want this to look sweet.

I would not say that there are any rules. Colors go with other colors ...It all depends on how you use them.
Black, red, and yellow = a classic combination. Not everyone picks the correct hues, though and not everyone has the guts to be colorful. Go into Photoshop or some such program and replace colors within a pre-selected area so that only that color within changes. Easy to determine which colors you like and where best to place those colors (bottle/tape/etc) on the bike.
