The bike trail in the back of my house. That fence nearest is 36 inches high, the one across a ways (it is a little creek) is 4 feet. It won't stop blizzarding!! The Denver metro area is completely shut down. In Aurora, you get a ticket if you are even driving on the road and are not an emergency vehicle.

Dnvrfox,
Keep the snowgods happy! I'm coming out in 3 weeks to ski Winter Park.
Aren't snowdays from school awesome? We had 3 this year. The first time in about 5 years.

How observant you are!!

Yes, we keep them there all year. They provide a nice entrance for guests any night.

This is pretty much a front range storm, although the mountains are certainly getting snow.

In Colorado, usually heavy front range storms come from moisture from the Gulf of Mexico colliding with cold arctic air. These storms do not make it over the Continental Divide to the west. Storms from the Pacific NW ggenerally get the mountains west of the Continental Divide and many times will not make it to the front range. Southern Rockies storms frequently come from the mid Pacific or lower Pacific.

Three distinct climate zones.

I have been snow blowing for 4 hours now. Still have to do the front walk, but can't get the door open!! Oh, well. Everything eventually melts, and we do have the garage entrance!!

Dnvr, don't you have a snow plow on the front of your bike? ;)

Looks like fun. I haven't seen snow that deep in a few decades.
