Folding Bikes - Interbike tidbits thread?

Duarte, California, February 16, 2004 -- Dahon California, Inc., the world leader in folding bicycles, and California-based bicycle seat designers S.D.G. (Speed Defies Gravity), have collaborated to make Dahon's 2004 premier bike models lighter and more versatile than ever. S.D.G.'s unique I-Beam system, which employs a single composite "rail" molded into the base of the saddle, versus dual metal rails, saves significant weight and roughly triples the fore-aft adjustability of standard seats. Using S.D.G.'s I-Beam rail system, Dahon and S.D.G collaborated to develop the lightweight I-Flex saddle.

The Birdy is poorly folded!

The yellow bike is a Dahon Speed Pro TT.

The Dahon Curve reduces to a smallish folded package, although it looks quite tall...

The pink KHS looks like nice - one for the sportier lady perhaps?

I was interested in them exhibiting what appeared to be a Birdy Red in a silver finish. Would have thought they would be focussing on pushing their rather more modern looking monocoque frames?

WRT that green cruiser.... am I the only one confused by whatever-the-hell's going on with the thing's rear wheel?

It looks like a wheel with a totally enclosed fender, but the fender is.... sitting on the ground?

It's probably a few mil off the ground. Design cue taken off the old hot-rods where they used to 'fair in' the rear wheels with neat covers over the rear wheels and mudguards. Kinda like the Audi in that terrible adaptation of 'I, Robot'.

A total pain if any crud gets stuck up there but I suppose you only cruise along a beach pavement in the sun so probably not an issue. I think it looks pretty cool!

A 16 inch itzy is not much less itzier than a 14 incher and tires are easier to find in greater variety.I tried to find high pressure tires for my roll n fold .The best i could do was 50 psi or so.

I viewed a folding tricycle at K Mart it wieghs about 8 pounds .That green kids Drasine should inquire about using the Name John Deere,also is it steel or Pvc pipe.What is the gearing on the Mobiky?What is the tire size on the dahon curve and what is with the Morbidly Obese tire Moots?
