I've had good luck with carbon singles; what is the general feedback of others for carbon tandems they own? Does anyone out there regret buying a carbon tandem? And if you had to do it over again, what advice would you offer in purchasing carbon?
Thanks.

Mike:
Own and ride a custom ariZona c/f tandem. Got 13,000+ miles on it. No regrets, great ride and has every feature we asked for. Have ridden 30 brands/models of tandems from steel to alu to ti. Our money, and butts, are on c/f by choice!
Two well-known US c/f tandem builders: Calfee and ariZona Tandems.

i know of two groups with calfee carbon tandems. the first is a married couple in their fifties who i see all the time on a big (150-200 riders) fast training ride and centuries for the last couple of years and don't seem to have any problems. the second is two brothes in their fifties as well who have been racing and riding for at least the 20+ years that i have. the brothers, even with all their experience (i've seen them riding tandems for at least 10 years) have the worst form imaginable on the bike looking like they are never in sync and always on the verge of catastrophe. they both weigh about 180 pounds, if these two neandrethals (sp?) can't kill a carbon tandem, you'll be fine.
