BMX - gone over 100 times but gotta ask

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you want to actually strip all the paint off buy some aircraft paint remover. If i am spray painting a frame i usually just scuff it up and shoot it.

its too screwed up to just scuff it up. theres like 3 layers of spray paint thats chiped and crappily done already on it, i'd rather just start from bare metal

Wire brush the whole frame until its raw, then sand it to make it rough and put primer on it. The put a hell of alot of layers of your spray paint on it and badda bing badda boom, you're done
