Hello,

I was wondering who is using STI shifters with a 44-32-22 crankset - what specific derailleur you are using (make, bottom/top, etc), and any other advice for someone who wants to do the same. Thank you very much

I do and I left the original Tiagra triple derailleur on there with an adjustment downward to maintain the specified gap between the bottom of the outer cage plate and the teeth on the 44T ring. I find the shifting fine for touring purposes, and I avoided the problems of pull differential between road and MTB derailleurs. I think Sheldon Brown discusses a way to overcome some of this differential. Of course, this would not work at all with a double derailleur because of the narrower cage.

Not exactly STI, but I'm using Campy Chorus shifters with a full XT dirve train. I used a JTech Shiftmate to change the rear cable pull length, and everything works perfectly. Of course, the Campy front shifters aren't indexed, so they work fine with any crankset.
After breaking in the cables, I had my LBS adjust them just before packing up for a cross country trip. Rode the entire trip, and am still riding (500 or so miles after completing the cross-country) without a cable adjustment. Try that with STI!

I use the Tiagra that came on my bike. I've tried LX with STI before I found out they wouldn't match. They don't. I have an Ultegra on another bike and I like the Tiagra better for the triple. It seems a bit more forgiving in terms of width and rubbing issues.
