I have a chrome, custom Dyno bmx. its all GT Dyno except for the frame... and i am looking for a place to buy something so that i can mount V-Brakes on my U-Brakes only frame/forks.

any ideas? there is a bike shop in town that said they "fixed my brakes," but they still suck.

oh, im new to the forums. whats up?

umm... would a big time company like sport check keep an adaptor in stock?

You don't need v-brakes to get good braking power, just buy a better set of u-brakes and learn how to set them up properly. Good cables and pads is also a must.

is there a site that will teach me how to set them up correctly? i have a gyro attached as well... and i thought v-brakes would be the way to go, if possible. if i knew how to set up my brakes properly, i would. but, i am not that experienced. teach me possibly? find a link to a site?

Take your bike to your local shop, buy a new brake and cables and then get them to show you how to set it up.

You can't put V-brakes on U-brake bosses. The mounting point is different - U-brakes pivot above the brake pad (1st class lever), V-brakes pivot from below (2nd class lever).

Besides which, V brakes are overkill on a 20" wheel. Poor modulation.

Why don't you just admit that you never put disks on a bmx and accept the fact that you're a ******.
