It starts near Fullerton Fox theatre in the parking lot of Fullerton court (the one with all the police cars :D). Does anyone ride this? I used to but stopped due to lack of MTB. I've seen roadies on there, but riding a roadie on a dirt path has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Its a pretty easy path. Nice peeps there too.

Does anyone ride this?

I tried once on an older Trek hardtail/fixed fork MTB, thinking that my BMX instincts would help, and quickly realized that MTBers are NOT failed roadies and that MTBing is a LOT harder than it looks.

Probably not roadies. Probably cyclocross riders. When I rode it I did so with a pair of 'cross riders. Were I to ever get back into any off-road riding, it would certainly be 'cross for me.

That's the Fullerton Loop. As iamtim says, it's very do-able on a cross bike. Except for a few short steep sections, a road bike wouldn't be too bad either.

Breathless Agony has a climb on a dirt road, and people go through that section on their roadies, often with some really nice wheelsets and lightweight race tires. I'll be sparing my lightweight wheelset the torture and going with my backup wheelset (with lightweight race tires) that day, but with an appropriate choice of wheelset and tires, road bikes are pretty tolerant of a lot.

The Jackrabbit Trail. I had fat tires on but you guys were flying through that section in skinny road tires like it was paved!

Lightweight road bikes don't have to be afraid of a little dirt. Consider the following pic of an extremely light bike:

[EDIT] For that matter, none of the pics of this bike "on the road" on the manufacturer's webpage for the bike (link (http://www.cervelo.com/bikes.aspx?bike=R32006)) show the bike on an asphalt or concrete road.
