Goleta is where the turnaround point was for Cool Breeze, ya know Storke and all. This ride is not in Goleta though, it is in the hills north of Solvang. Nice area.

Goleta is a suburb of Santa Barbara on the north side. The ride is aroung the Santa Ynez valley. A brief description follows:

2006 People Powered Ride Information

Once upon a time on a bicycle....
The Goleta Valley Cycling Club invites you to the 27th Annual People Powered Ride on October 8, 2006. The rides tour the scenic Santa Barbara County wine country and surrounding hills. All proceeds from this ride are allocated to promote cycling -- mostly locally, but also statewide and nationally. The start/finish is at the beautiful Firestone Meadow near the intersection of Foxen Canyon and Zaca Station roads, four miles north of Los Olivos.

Please Note: Our use of this wonderful facility is due to the generosity of a family who is committed to promoting cycling. Along with our club, they are also committed to a clean environment. Let's take great care to leave Firestone Meadow and the surrounding valley cleaner than when we arrived.

Routes
The Prince's Grand Ball (Full Century):From Santa Ynez to Lompoc and back through Los Alamos, this route has several challenging climbs. Total elevation gain 7400 ft.

Dash of the Pumpkin Bike(Metric Century): A loop through Los Alamos, Solvang and Santa Ynez that also has several challenging climbs. Total elevation gain 4200 ft.

Fitting the Glass Slipper(30-Miles): Although short, the ride by Santa Ynez and Solvang has several hills. Total elevation gain is more than 2200 ft.
