I usually just sport bibs and leg warmers until it gets too cold and the trainer becomes more attractive..... but this winter I want to extend my riding and want to know what most people prefer?

The bib tights in question are DeMarchi Contour Plus bib tight. My problem is should I get the model with the chamois or with out?

If I go without then I can wear my other bibs and may not need to wash the tights everyday. But if I go with the chamois the tights may be more comfortable and they are made with windproof material so I probably wouldn't need the extra insulation that wearing bibs underneath would provide.

I prefer with chamois. But for the love of God could they add some of that windbloc laminate over the fun bits? If it's cold enough for tights then it's a sure thing the ole' landing gear is gonna retract.

+1 on the chamois on the tights instead of having to wear an extra pair of shorts...because it's one less thing to have to struggle in and out of when commuting.

Depends how cold you want to ride in. The long bibs with chamois by itself will probably only be good down to about 40 degrees F. But it is a good choice if you will have a lot of days riding in those temps. My experience with PA is that they can have some pretty cold winters. And there will be a lot of days a lot colder than 40 degrees so you want something else as well for when its colder.

I find that for me it is more comfortable in the cold of winter to go with a regular short or short bib with a warm tight over that. Also these winter bibs very a lot in how cold you can ride in them depending on the fabric and thickness.
