hi, i'd just like to introduce myself...
i'm a 21 year old college student living in boston, MA. i ride mostly fixed gear bikes, (i have a yellow vantuyl pursuit and a pink lotus track frame), but i also ride BMX and a little (very little) bit of trials.
i love my track bikes...and both are pretty unique as far as i know. i've only seen one other lotus like mine, and pretty much every bike shop i go to is mystified by its existence. the same is true about my van tuyl.
i have a question:
i've been looking for more information about my van tuyl frame, and there just isn't that much out there (in the interweb) about van tuyl in general. i bought the frame on ebay, and the serial number is 388. it's yellow, and uses a 650c front wheel and a 700c rear. it's pretty much my daily ride. although i do ride my lotus occasionally, because it is my first love.
so i guess what i'm wondering is does anyone know how long they made these frames, what year mine could possibly be from?
when i got the bike it came with a catalog from van tuyl and it didn't have any track frames in it, so i guess they don't make them anymore. and if they do, they DEFINITELY don't make pursuits anymore (as 650c front wheeled frames are not raced in officially sanctioned track races anymore).
i wish i had a picture to post, but i don't have a scanner or a digital camera.
