I just saw they added a new Ironman city. Very tempting indeed!

Seems to me it would be tough to do a 1st year IM race. Nobody to give you any advice!!!

well, what do you think about those who are trying to get a 'kona' spot in the last week of august? I think one month to recover and rehit a peak for kona would be difficult. Or would this fall into the situation where you would qualify for the next years race? For example race qualifying time in KY in 8/07, and then race Kona in 10/08? Does this make sense? I've never raced a IM distance before so I don't know if a month would be too short to recover.

IMKY '07 will qualify you for Kona '07. Same as Canada. Wisconsin is in September and that gets deferred until the next year.

You can certainly recover enough to finish the race, but I wouldn't count on being able to win you AG at the big dance.

I have 4 friends that qualified at Canada this year for Kona this October, but at least 2 of them had excellent reason prior to IMC to think that they would be going, so I think they structured their training to peak for Hawaii.
