It seems the upright rickshaw/trikes we've had here for the past few years are being replaced by these:

They're all over the place! I picked up the front end on one. They're lighter than you'd think. The have an electric assist motor in the front hub, and a fully functional differential on the rear axle. I don't suppose I'd want to go cross country with one, but they do look like they'd be a viable replacement for taking the car on errands to the market, etc.
Interesting! Do they use the streets, or sidewalks? Wonder how they'd do in New York rush hour?

They ride right on the street even during rush hour! I've seen them all over the place and they are quite attractive. I'm going to go for a ride and see how much it costs. It will probably set me back $20 USD for travel 5 city blocks!

Once of the drviers told me the bike weights 1000 pounds! I had no idea there was an electric assist motor in the front hub as the driver seemed to not use anything but leg power. He didn't even know the bicycle had 24 gears! It has a 3 X 8 gear combination.
The Taxi Limo commission wants these guys to get licensed and the horse carriages riders hate them!
Wow, 8400 euros! How many miles would you have to pedal, to pay for one of these?
