Great Lakes - Chicago Burbs Hilly Routes??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have an itching to ride some hills. Can anyone from the West Burbs suggest a hilly area or route for me to try out. I am in the Plainfield/Naperville area and ride west of Rt 59 most of the time. Besides one or two rollers this is generally a flat area. Just looking for something different as the season comes to an end.
Do we have any "Famous" hills around here?
Later.

Hey..I usually do this route:http://routeslip.com/map.php?map=9569 for some climbing. Gives you 1000 ft in less than 30 miles.
iab has some hills in the North. I am still toying with putting together a route that has a ton of good hills. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread for ideas.
EDIT:BTW this can be extended North through Crystal Lake. The trail goes through a park there where there are a lot of quick steep rollers. That's where I last layed my bike down. I've also locked up both wheels and gone sideways off trail there as well.
Fun.

This one is 525 feet in 10 miles. I have been told that the hill on South Valley Road (Hill 2 on Routeslip) has been called suicide hill. The estate at the bottom is rumored to be Chester Gould's (Dick Tracy) studio and now owned by Oprah - I don't know if there is any truth to that, I am skeptical. It's short but very steep and comes immediately after a descent hill (Hill 1 on Routeslip).

If you want a longer ride but not as intense, this is one of my usual weekend rides.

Of course there is a open invitation to anyone who would like me to guide them through these routes (or any others in the greater Crystal lake area).

Maybe?? :)
And isn't route slip so very cool!
I just feel the need for something but the flatlands into the headwinds. Maybe some nice little hills into the flatlands. It looks like I am going hiking/camping this weekend over at Starved Rock and the bike is coming along! Part of the Bike Psychos Route went through there and over some nasty little rollers.
Thanks for the links.

Is there any way to zoom in on routeslip and get street names? I feel like I am missing something...

Hah...I just posted that in the other thread for dekalb. Click the little arrow on the right hand side of the menu. It will collapse the menus on the left hand side of the map and reveal the google map controls underneath.

GOLD!
Is there any way to keep the route line on the actual road? I know the route on my maps but, for example, on Psimet's route, I am guessing which roads correspond to the route. Or do I have to spend $50 and get some good software?

The guy who is running Routeslip has said in his blog that the "follow roads" option that some sites have is actually against the user agreement that Google had so he is not planning on incorporating it into his site.
I have not used the turn info like you have in your routes. I will probably try that out on some. I have a backlog of about 50-100 different routes from all of the organized rides I've doen in the area. Each one has 3-4 routes. I plan on putting most of them into routeslip so that I can call them up from any computer.
Plus it gives me something to do that is just clicking when I'm feeding my son a bottle at 2 or 3 am.
