So I got ahold of a local bike co-op place with rooms full of various bikes stacked upon each other, and I plan on scouring them for frames this coming week, but I'm liking more and more the idea of using an existing 26" fork I have and making a goofy big wheeled bike.
Obviously it'll alter the geometry, I'm planning on that.
I'm not, however, planning on the headtube breaking. Has anyone used a set-up simliar to this, and noticed any structural problems with the head tube junction? From what I've seen, bmx frames are pretty beefy, but alonger lever is, well, a longer lever.
Suggestions, as always, are welcome. (about bikes, of course.)

You might want to put this in Alt bike culture.

Also for a winter bike I have a old hyper with a small travel mtb fork and i've never ran into problems.

Moving from BMX to Alt. That will cut down on the flaming.

i put a 26" fork on a 20" bmx frame. just find a fork with the same diameter as your headpiece. mine's not finished yet, but it seems pretty sturdy. ill post pics in a day or two when the bike is done.

I've got an old 20" Western Flyer girls bike with a 27" fork and a 26" wheel on the front. It works just fine, and I made no other modifications to the bike, other than adding a front hand brake to compliment the rear coaster brake, and putting on a one-piece BMX crank with longer pedals and a bigger chainring.
