Post a picture of your favorite track bike. You can judge it based on appearance, components, roll of the dice -- whatever. But no conversions.

Of the 130someodd bikes in my screensaver file, this is the one I find the most amusing.

That thing is less a track bike than most conversions, though.
That pic is at the same time intresting, amusing and annoying.

I made the post, I made the rules. :p
Anything that [165], Ceya, dubteka, FungaziDave, abstnr, or dolface is currently riding. I leave it to them to post the bike I refer to. :)

Its only of use on the the track, its about as track specific as you can get.

Is that thing REAL? Who built that, and how big is that chainring?

seems more likely to me that it's a land speed record bike for out on the salt flats.

that was my guess too, but in all fairness, I think that sorta falls under the track bike umbrella. at least in this case.

**** you!!! Now I want a Tommasini. And I don't even want a trackbike at all, let alone a steel one (ooops...)

that tommasini kinda ****s me up cause it's got cable routes on the bottom bracket. until now, I didn't notice. I just thought they were bb cutouts.

-snip of pictures-
I haven't. All those bikes you posted are no doubt beautiful as ****, but they all have issues when talking about the perfect bike for me. Geometry angles, tire clearence, paint, lug shape, label style, stem style, track ends, ect.
The Conti I posted is completely perfect in every way (in my eyes). The only two bikes that comes close in beauty to the Conti is TNCLR's Casati and 12XU's Mercian.

They are cutouts not cable guides.

not the three slots you can see through, the raised ridges in pairs that follow the lines you'd want a cable to run through. (the cable guides)

Yeah, the guys at Tom were too busy designing the paint job to make a track specific BB shell. I could live with it, though.

agreed.
why does it matter, yo ?
just cause I'm a bike dork and the frame is amazing except for that little detail. def not a big deal, just weird that they left them on.

It's definitely not the classiest thing out there, but it's most definitely hot as ****. Possibly my favorite bike now too. I won't be afraid to ride that hard, stuff like TNCLR's and that ballin' Mercian I would be way too gentle with.
i look at bikes from 9:30-6.
i ride/work on bikes any other time that i'm not in bed or at the bar(not drinking).
i don't have a couch/internet/cable, so that statement is pretty damn close to true.

I dunno about my favourite, but this EG Bates is now mine. I was gonna flip it, but the seatpost is stuck. At exactly my size. So, I thought that was fate, and now it's mine. Probably gonna take the brake off and run it on the track though.
