Commuting - Widest Road?

What is the widest road you seen?

This road even has a shoulder. WOW,
It is in a park area this is a major road.

In the city anytime a lane gets to be too wide autos will use it as two lanes. There are a number of roads marked for 2 lanes in Cleveland that are nearly always used as 4 lanes.
I really dislike 4 lane urban roads (marked 4 or 2) because it causes cars to make rapid lane changes. Someone turns left, suddenly cars are changing to the right lane. A bus is stopped for passengers, cars are piling to the left. And ofcourse during these maneuvers they are not as aware of cyclists or even other vehicles. I think traffic would flow better with 3 lanes (one each direction and middle turn lane) than with these four lane roads. Plus the third lane give the autos room to pass me.

I get this 5 to 6 lane road all to myself for 3 miles early in the morning.
Who needs a shoulder when you have 2 to 3 lanes to choose from that early in the morning?
The SR and SHs around here have fairly decent shoulders. That is if you don't mind cycling with motorists traveling 55-80 mph.

Maybe we need to put a small tack strip to the left of the bike lane and have it stop 300 feet before a intersection. B!tches if you cross this F!cking line its going to cost you

Part of the MUP I use is actually an access road for a freeway. It's two lanes wide and at the times I commute I'm the only vehicle on it. Just me and the rabbits. Pretty nice, I have it for 2.5 of the best miles. Berms shield me from the freeway noise to make it extra special.

That's just outside Driggs, ID. We've been vacationing there for I think 11 years now. Love it. The whole of Teton Valley is great. Here's a photo from a road I took on the other (Jackson, WY) side of the Tetons:

The nice shoulder (with bike lane icons) ended about 8 miles out of town, tho.

Beautiful area of the country, IMO, my fav. The first photo from ID was my "morning commute" while on vacation.

I have been there a couple of times US/Costa Rica and US/Mexico qualifying games at Crew Stadium. We were in the Brewery district, but I don't recall the names of the places. We had a blast.
