Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey all -- started bike commuting this summer, now it's in my blood! I've only got an 11-mile round trip (all trail, except for 9 blocks of street) I'm commuting on a 1980s Schwinn Traveler road bike-- nothing fancy, but I love it since that's the only bike I have. Should I buy new? Will I notice a huge difference in today's new bikes than on my 1980's 12-speed Traveler?

No, no difference. Really. :p Funny, funny! Welcome to the boards. Oh, and if you really want to get them riled up, post that in the Road Cycling section. You'll get responses for days! :D
