General Cycling Discussion - Purchases You Talked Yourself Out of

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What bike stuff(s) that wanted to buy, but you pulled out at the last moment(;) ). In the last few months
I'll start
Flyte $99 frame on eBay
Good deal, but I don't have the budget to build it to a decent bike.
Forte Titan Wheelset at Performace for $139
Almost pulled the trigger on this one, but I convinced myself to save up for a better wheelset.

My road bike has a set of Shimano 105 brakes that I bought in about 1989. I keep looking at those new Campy skeleton brakes and have almost bought them several times. I don't need them; I just want them.

A HID light. Decided to repair my cheapy halogen instead.
I have way too many items that I need. No need to spend my budget all on a light.

That would be none. I'm good at talking myself into, not out of, purchases.

Last year I talked myself out of a top quality lamp that was offered to me on a ride at a discounted price by the Manufactureres- Decided to stay with the Halogens. This year had to bite the bullet and get the good lamp. Still got a deal but not as good as last year.
