the movie Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid-- it's on AMC right now-- and I just watched the bicycle scene-- what a great scene-- a single speed (he can coast, so it isn't a fixie), but a beautiful scene...

I love that movie except for that Burt Bacharach pasteurized-cheesy white people scat music.

My favorite scene is the "knife fight" during the first 10 minutes of the movie.

I think almost all bikes at that time were single speed.

I watched that last night as well. Except for a few trite lines from Katherine Ross, it was really an excellent movie.
Except for a few trite lines from Katherine Ross
Katherine Ross could speak a few "trite lines" to me and it would be fine!:)

"Kid, I don't want to sound like a sore loser but, when this is over, if I'm dead, kill him"...............as spoken by Butch just prior to his knife fight scene

Who are those guys?
Who are those guys?
:roflmao: I'd forgotten about that line in the movie. I felt like that yesterday. I saw a group of three riders in front of me and thought I'd try to catch them. Everytime I got within a few hundred yards, they'd pull ahead even more. I'd work hard, get closer, and they'd pull ahead. I found myself thinking, "Who are those guys?" After about 30 miles, they stopped at a store and I pulled in a few minutes behind them. Those guys were three young women, all of whom were able to ride my sorry a$$ into the ground!
