I was considering buying a Felt before I got my Trek. You get a lot of bang for your buck with Felt. I was looking at the road bike with the full Ultegra group. The price I got at my LBS for this bike was about $1400 which was amazing for a quality bike with that group. The only thing that turned me off was memories of an aluminum MTB that I use to have and the ride quality it gave. I was afraid that an aluminum road bike would be very similiar. If you can deal with the ride of aluminum they are a good bike with a lot of value.

I almost picked up the F50 at my LBS for 1499. A great value and a good bike. In the end, I opted to pay a bit more for an OCLV Trek 5200. Ok, a grand more. Funny, my wife approved of the smooth, curved CF joints on the trek more than the welds on the aluminum. She said it reminded her of the VW Bug. Whatever it takes. She's not a bike person. :D

I testrode a felt f50 (i think... or was it the f40? the one that's like 17lbs) and really liked it. I would have purchased it but I ended up getting a litespeed Vela for a few hundred bucks less from a different bike shop since i'm friends with the onwer. nice bike.

A racer friend of mine bought a Felt. Great bikes for the money.. Recent critique in Bicycling Mag.. Slightly critical of its construction, but still a good bike for the money.. He is very happy with it and doing great in the racing community..

Felt so far has done good. They built a name of high quality and hard to find and now they are mass producing bikes with the name they created and at nice prices. So far dealers are very happy with service and support.

We will see how long it lasts.

I personally hope Felt keeps it up and opens a few online dealers (no franchises) with knowledge. This will broaden their base and allow for more support nationwide as well as worldwide.
