Anyone know alot about the Z.4's made in 2001? they have 80mm of travel can it be extended to 100mm? a friend of mine is willing to sell his but he keeps saying its small travel and hes not 100% if it can be extended.

ps this fork is coming off a 2001 Norco Nitro its a year old

Z-4 is a good fork, never used one, I use Z1. If you're going to use it for xc, then go for it, if for freeriding, get a beefier fork.

I think you asked this on another board and basically got this response

1 - check with you LBS to make sure it can be extended
2 - email Marzocchi...they will respond in a day or two with the right answer
3 - it is generally to weak a fork for anything but xc unless you are a really smooth rider and light. In 2002 they renamed the fork to the EXR and it is still just an aggresive xc fork. It 'ok'.

Good luck :)

i went to my friends house to check out the z.4 today an man its very senstitive. you just lean forward and you use up like 60mm. we unscrewed these caps up top and they reveled an air valve on each side. if we somehow put air into these would it make it more solid?

You need a marz pump and should dl the manual to see what pressure is correct. Then you can pump it to the right volume for rider weight and style.
