There ought to be a law against making and selling thongs in that size.

Hey, at least she is trying. A couple years ago I wasn't even trying.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who "picked up on that". Everybody here is making fun....but it appears she's trying to do something about it. Kudos for her!!!

+1 and whoever shoot that video ought to be shot, that's as bad as abuse as she did to her own body and to me is not entertainment.

I don't know about that. If I thought she was intentionally trying to get in shape/lose weight I wouldn't have replied.

The way the video is shot, it appears as much more of a joke, with nobody being 'victimized'. I see it as coming across as "Hey, I'm fat & happy, let me dress up like a loon and get on a treadmill - that'd look funny" not as someone poking fun at an obese person's legit struggle to get in shape.

if that's the case, so be it... but most people who abuse thier body to the extreme of being obese and not generally happy. They usually have a baggage of emotional issues where they have take on a destruction pattern.
But I see your point.

Also true. Who knows what the deal is with this video...the internet can be a weird place sometimes.

sure is... you also have to wonder about the people shooting and distributing this vidoe for entertainment, although as you said, she could be happy and proud... you just know that it's not out there to represent a happy and proud to be fat person, it's more to ridicule...

I don't understand why she even allowed the video to be filmed in the first placed dressed like that UNLESS she was proud of herself.

I HIGHLY doubt that. If anything...she's probably just proud of herself no matter what and who knows that the video was taken for. It could be a mini clip of a much longer video. We'll never know.

But making fun of people because they are fat is like acting as if you were a grade school bully. Do you still go around making fun of fat people? Tall people? Short people? People with really bright red hair? Those are the things we SHOULD have outgrown by high school.

there is such a bigger picture then that, do you honestly think this video was put out there to depict a proud obese person? that video was put out there to ridiculed.
As to why she agreed, could be many reason, she could be proud ( slim chance) she could be used for immature cheap entertainment. She could have such a low self esteem that any attention even negative is attention. We can only speculate but there is no doubt that this video was not put out there to depict the pride of over weight people.

KT,

There is a difference between making fun of someone because they are fat, and making fun of someone who is acting like a dolt, who happens to be fat.

Had the video been shot in a less comical/ridiculous manner I doubt anyone would have said anything. If it were a woman in a gym, on a treadmill it wouldn't be remarkable. It's not, so it is.

I used to be nearly 300lbs...so really, I'm the last person to pick out and pick on someone soley because of their weight.

I'm suprised it took 14 posts for somebody to say this. Look, she is fatter than life and walking on a treadmill basically naked. She is also smiling while she is doing it. Is it not obvious to you that her intent was for the video to be funny? Why do you think she is wearing a thong?

She knows she looks hideous but decides that it would be funny to do it anyway. The high school bully analogy is ridiculous. Nobody here has said a word to her, we don't even know her. Again, she climbed her fat ass onto that treadmill naked for all the world to see.

I wouldn't do that even though I am fit and in good shape! She knew what the point of the video was, too bad some of the hypersensitives here don't get it.

Ayup. The point of that video wasn't exercise. Either humor or kink, as there are people who get off on that.

Try being a fat person on a forum of cyclists......I've seen SOOOOOOOOOOOO much "fat hate" here that it's nearly made me sick some times. One of the main reason I hang out mostly in FOO is because typically there is less.

You are preaching to choir about people being too uptight they can't take a joke....but this is one of slightly sensitive issues because I've seen so much of that hate here on bike forums.

Whether that video was made to humorous or not, doesn't really matter. It's still a bit immature to make such a big deal about it IMO.

I agree with you Portis. I doubt she was ashamed of herself. I used to be fat. As in I weighed 60 pounds more than I do now. I would amuze myself and my friends by stuffing my entire fist into my gut. Sometimes I would even fit other peoples fists into my gut! I didn't get teased for it, rather we were all amused by it.

You are who you are, and you may as well enjoy it.
