I used to ride there in the 70s, while at UB. Flattest place I've ever seen, the only hills were the railroad overpasses.

I'm also in Buffalo. I don't have a car, so I bike for transportation when I can. I'm a bad biker, though, so I bike only when there is no snow or wind and the temperature is above freezing, so these days I've been relying on riding buses and jogging. I was hoping to get good enough to bike in the winter and even got a nice headlight for biking in the snow, but I found I'm too much of a wimp. Does anyone want a nice halogen headlight?

Good to see some other Buffalonians out there! How do you folks bike in the winter? Even the jogging was difficult for me today. The skin on my face and my legs were hurting from the cold, and somehow my fingers always manage to get numb when the temperatures get to the teens or below despite wearing 2 layers of gloves and hiding my hands under my jacket sleeves! It seems that everyone else around here who is not new to the city handles the cold perfectly fine. I tend to struggle when the temperatures go below the teens.

I spent a lot of time at the gym and on my fluid trainer this winter, just started getting back outside this past weekend. On hold now until it gets back above 30 this weekend.

I don't like to bump an old thread but can any of you Buffalo dudes tell me where the best bike deals are in your city? I am in Toronto and will be coming down there this week and I would like to take advantage of our high Canadian dollar (97.2!!) and scoop up something nice.

Here in Toronto, it is that time of the year when a lot of shops are clearing out bikes and parts, is that the case in Buffalo too? I am looking to upgrade my wheels, the best deal in Toronto that I can find are Easton Circuits for 300$CDN, are prices like this hard to find in Buffalo? Thanks for any help!
