when I was looking for a trainer last yr or so, everything pointed to fluid. So I got a fluid. Never tried a mag though so I don't know how they feel. But I know the fluid will kick your butt which is great. I think without the trainer, I would have never hit 30mph on the flats.

Thanks for all the great info....
Sounds like fluid is the way to go!

By the way, anyone in the SD area who wants to try out a Kurt Kinetic can arrange with me to borrow mine. Or anyone doing a group ride with me can just let me know to bring it.

As noted earlier, I have no experience with any others to compare with, but I am happy with the Kurt Kinetic after several hundred miles' worth of trainer time on the thing. (Mostly in July since I couldn't pull myself away from Tour coverage to go for my morning rides.)

Well, this goes the same for a Kreitler polylite roller. This is one size harder than their Challenger unit, and one size easier than their "intense" poly/alum mite roller. You'll need to find a place with a wall to try it though. :)
