Foo - One of the coolest things EVER

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The weather yesterday was amazing, so Jess and I did out 45 mile loop. She loves that ride because there's not a lot of climbing, and we can knock it out in around 3 hrs, including stops.
Around 1/4 of the way through the ride, we had to stop for a dropped chain (her bike) and while I was fixing it (it dropped off the crank side) I kept hearing this jet airplane sound.
I looked up to see this bright reddish-orange F14-looking plane absolutely zipping across the sky at an impossible rate of speed. It took me a second before I realized that it was not an actual F14, but a model one, with actual jet engines!!
The pilot was doing all sorts of cool things with it, including loops, stalls, spins, etc. It was quite awesome.
Something you definitely don't see everyday. I wish I'd had my cam!!

You mean like one of these (http://www.break.com/index/f14model.html)? So cool!
...and a MiG-29 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6jE9ztpyFo&mode=related&search=) <-- look at the take-off distance !!!
This F-117 ended up (http://my.break.com/media/view.aspx?ContentID=160123) like the real one at a show in Pt.Mugu a couple years ago.
This one looks like it was retrofitted with a jet later (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmqvjALs_n0)
A Saab Gripen goes into the trees! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENcIZVx-o9c&mode=related&search=)

Whoa... different color, but yeah, I guess. Wow, it's huge up close. We were seeing it from around 1/2 mile away. I had no idea there was such a thing.
Looks expensive, I definitely wouldn't want to crash that thing!

Not a jet, but cool in its own right (IMHO). My plane (with 80cc gas engine):

It is fascinating to watch, I agree.
THe Vermont air national guard was occupying an air strip close to my house, I saw these planes do some impressive stuff.
