Foo - Predicting Possible SNOW for Thursday?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Watching the weather today and it looks like no riding the next couple of days! CRAP! Mrs Stormcrowe and I are going to get a short ride this afternoon after classes, but rain tomorrow and rain/snow mix Thurs with a low of 26ºF! It was 77ºF yesterday! I'm gonna freeze! Since I lost all this body fat, I don't do as well with cold......maybe I need to transfer to Fla State?
That's it, Fla State....hey KT, we're on out way down! (Kidding of course!):D

I lived in FL for 17 years, Tom. I moved away from that heat without a second thought. Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there again. I'd rather shovel snow, than bake in the Florida sun.

+1 I've lived in FL since I was 1.5 years old....and I'm dying to get out. They should call it "the oven state", not "the sunshine state".
As for snow....we're predicting our next snowfall for 2017. :D

And your next descructive hurricanes for this Thursday, next Wednesday, and every day ending with "ay" next month.
Yeah, I'll shovel snow, thanks. :D
PS - here, the prediction is for snow on Friday. Anyone know how to put chains on a disk wheel?

It's not the snow, I actually like riding in snow, it's the COLD! I don't have the "Optional Arctic Insulation Pkg" installed anymore on the ol' bod'!:D

It's sad....but its true. :(
I want to move to Washington state....so all I have to worry about are earthquakes and hot flowing lava from erupting volcanoes. :D

But then you'd have to re-learn your gangsta hand signs, since Washington is on the Wesss-side.

Snap out of it TOM, you're whinning dammit! We don need no stinkin insulation around our bellies...that's what they make wool for! If your pecker don't freeze off, it ain't too cold to ride (unless the wife makes you a better offer of course). :D
Its blurrrr here in Colorado. Snow predicted for tomorrow. Its been raining lightly since Sunday evening. Good thing for me I meet with my trainer tonight. :)

Meh. Just get some studded tires and gortex pants/coat and be done with it. Oh, and a thermos full of a delicious blend of sherry and coffee...

after our volcanoe blew up and scattered across the state the lava been self cotained and earthquakes
are mostly in the seattle area(which all it does is rain there ) most people ignore the middle of the state
(the best part) good weather most of the year not many natural disasters
we get some snow in the winter, my xcountry skiis will be ready

I wish we got snow. Here it's either slush or patches of ice.

It's threads like this that make me appreciate the northeast. I get 4 REAL seasons. In the winter, there's plenty of snow for skiing and such, but not so much that it interferes with life (once you get used to it, that is.)
In the summer, it gets hot enough to be pleasant but not so hot it's annoying. (read: it stays in the double digits.)
We have no natural disasters - except maybe the occasional "flood," but up here the word flood means "oh no, the creek overflowed into my neighbor's corn field!"
The ocean is close, and though it's definitely not tropical, it's totally tolerable in the summer, and the beaches aren't clogged with eight billion people every day.
We've got mountains big enough to be interesting, but no so big that they're inaccessable to all but the most advanced climbers. You can hit multiple peaks in a single day of hiking in the Adirondacks, instead of spending multiple days on one single peak.
Life is good!
Saabfan, Yep we have 4 seasons too. Have to say I love it. :)

KT is just trying to throw the yankees off. He figures that if he makes Florida sound too inhospitable to northerners, they won't want to move here.

I've no desire to live on the largest sandbar in the Western hemisphere. :p

Actually a sandbar on top of a limestone mine network. All that limestone (base) being surrounded by saltwater (acidic) creates one big battery which is why Florida is the #1 lighting capital of the world (specifically Tampabay is the #1 lightning capital of the world).

Hey, so it snows a little on Thursday. It'll melt in no time. The ground is still too warm.
Glad I rode yesterday when it was sunny and 70!

Time to break out the rollers I bought last week, and to dig up my 24hr Fitness card. I'll keep riding outside, but looks like only on the weekends....

Pop 1000mg of Niacin on an empty stomach 10 mins before your ride.
You'll be warm enough... :D

So true so true but you'll never get bored. :D
Christ, Tom...for all you've been through, you shouldn't let a little cold weather slow you down. Plenty of us ride straight on through the winter with no trouble. I'm sure you've checked the Winter Cycling forums, but you might want to check again.
You'll be suprised how comfortable you can be on a bike in very cold temps. I've been just as comfortable on my bike at -3F as I am right now sitting in front of the computer.
Granted, I am not one for cold + wet. When it is raining I don't ride, but that ain't every day around here. Usually it is just cold.

Man, I'm just grousing, I ride year around! I just thought it'd generate some Foo traffic! I do get cold faster though since I lost the weight!
