I recently got back into road biking after a few years off and gaining some pounds. I am a recreation rider, and started bike commuting, which has got me hooked on riding again in a big way.

I blew some money on a Cannondale six13 recently, and am hoping to get into some low key competition rides with it as I've never had a serious bike before, and have mainly done centuries/doubles etc before.

This place looks like a great resource, and looking forward to spending some time here!

You'll definitely find the info you need here. Doubles, huh? Welcome to the forums. :D

Yeah, centuries and doubles are not serious stuff :D I would hate to see your idea of serious. Welcome.

hehe that sounded wrong.

I've done one double (6 years ago) on a 1970s steel road bike bought for $50 and retrofitted with clipless shoes and 23mm tires, but it was pretty flat and I was riding 12hours, total time 15hours - nothing spectacular.

Hopefully that gives a more realistic picture - thanks for the warm welcome BTW :D
