Hardee's coffee is ok, Duncan Donuts is not too bad either. But my question is, does seven eleveen have good coffee?. I know Starbucks is good but i do not have a starbucks in my area.

Starbucks coffee really ain't that great...well, I guess compared to Duncan Donuts and Seven Eleven it is (the theory of relativity as it relates to coffee).

I don't know where you heard that Starbucks has good coffee, but it certainly wasn't from anybody who likes coffee.

Go find a Local Coffee Shop (LCS) that roasts their own. Failing that, get thee to a Peets.

locally, that would be Mazzaro's at 28th/22nd... not only freshly made Italian pastries, breads, and two-pound muffins but the barista is *awesome* too!

Around here, there's a little café called Jeneane's that's darn good. They roast their own coffee and has a wide selection of French & Italian pastries too. :)

Ok, I admit it...I like Starbucks alot.
a 24oz Vente just cant be beat for
NY Thruway miles.......Dunkin' D-Nutz is
OK, but I believe a lot of them run water
through the grains twice or something like that.
More often than not, its just brown water.
Micky D's Green MTN. Coffee is good too, if
you dont mind supporting Ronald Mcdonald,
corporate deathburger !

- sure!

- IIRC, Mazzaro's is closed Sundays, open 9-6 M-F, 9-2 Saturday...

- the sandwiches are *very* good - $4.50 (almost too much for one sitting)... almost...

Sounds like you're in the North East.

I'd suggest some companies that support cycling teams-Jet Fuel Coffee or Jittery Joes.

I buy organic coffee too at my local health food store. They have a whole little rap on it how it doesn't hurt the environment, good for the native economy, and doesn't exploit children, etc. Oh and it tastes good too.

Starbucks tastes like burnt ass chunks...bleh...

I like trying a lot of variety (heck I have even bought starbucks non grinded just to see if the "Crew" was screwing it up)...so far my favorite tends to come from mexico. There is also a local company that makes some mean beans.

I am to lazy to do it myself.

Last time I was in a Starbucks, it was in an airport and it was the only coffee place there was, so I was stuck. I asked for a double shot.

Starbucks Idiot: "Of what?"

Me: "Of espresso, please."

SBI: "Oh, you mean a Doppio!"

Me: "Si. Prego!"

SBI: [blank stare]

Me: "That's Italian for 'yes, please.' I thought you spoke Italian."

SBI: "Heh. I just know we're supposed to say 'doppio.'"

Me [sotto voce]: "Dumbass."

I think they were talking simpleTON!

OK now here comes the shocker - I prefer a nice cup of Lipton tea, with milk and sugar, to coffee! I am a freakin wild man! :D

If I'm not at work (where I make fancy coffee drinks all day long), I will drink Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's, but I won't drink starbucks. None of them are that good, but at least Dunkin Donuts isn't burnt tasting and I don't have to pay $3 for it.

agreed minus the milk. I drink that stuff every day at work. At least black tea has antioxidants.

Thank all for your input, sounds like local places are good. An some have recommended brewing coffee from home which does not sound like a bad idea either. Quite suprised that so many people do not like like starbucks never had their coffee i just assumed it was good.

Ass chunks rock !!!

I go to Starbucks regularly when down Souf.
The 'Barrista's' (South American radicals ??) condescend
if you dont call stuff by the Starbux name. I had enuff of this
crap so when my Son and I visit one we play along with the guy
and drag it out as long as we can.....
"May I have a large black"
"A venti ?"
"No....a Large black"
"we only have 'Tall'"
"Uhhhhh...........kewl....can I have that large black ??" etc, etc, etc.....:D

Silly wabbit, you can't fit a whole guy in the microwave...

you gotta cut him up into bite sized pieces first!

I don't really like coffee shop/convenience store coffee as much as I used to. And of the brands I use at home, A&P and Bustelo lead the field. Maxwell House is always a safe bet.

Chipcom: what do you think about Chock-Full-o-Nuts? Can that cut it?
