i like those days where i wake up and have absolutely nothing planned for the entire day. nobody to meet up with, nobody to call, no work to do, nothing. just a free and clean slate for the next 24 hours.

i don't get to do those nearly enough...

ohh and emails! I LOVE emails!! lol! not the junky kind, or chain letters, I love receiving emails, I know, it's VERY corny, I never got sick of it, to me it's like opening a christmas present! :) I always found it neat to be able to talk to people I would never talk to or encounter in my life time because they are so far.

Well ever since that darned "Child Labor Act" it's hard to find a quality, American, Baby Distillery. Anymore, you're going to need to import from Thailand, or homebrew from samples you're able to collect on the street.

hey, did you ever figure out how to write down those salsa moves?Yah, I got the template you guys posted with feet-position per beat and made it the background in an Illustrator file. Then I just draw in feet & arrows on top of it. To the side of that I also make body & hand-movement diagrams.

In the end, posting the video was the easiest way to get the message across without being there in person to show them the moves. There's so much non-verbal communications going on with your body, eyes and subconcious that trying to convey that in words in email is impossible. I guess that's why we dance in the first place, eh? ;)

I was trying to show some folks on the east coast the LA-style salsa that we dance here; which is a little younger, flashier and more exciting than the traditional Cuban salsa. Demonstrated in the 2nd half of this performance we did last year at Fiesta (dangerous moves):

Yeah I'll let you know it would be nice though just to hear "Can I give you a back rub?" Yep I'm waiting for that day. :DHuh? You ladies are missing out! Imagine yourself having one of those lonnng days at work... where you haven't had a single moment of rest. Your arms are sore, your shoulders are tight and aching as you clench your teeth while fighting the impulse to rip your co-worker's eyeballs out and shove them down their throats! The hours drag on as you feel yourself getting more tired and sluggish. Your arms must've gained 10-lbs as you feel their weight and your shoulders have suddenly cramped ,sending sharp tingles up your neck. Tick... tock...tick... tock... goes the clock, HAH !!! Einstein was WRONG, time does slow down even when you're not traveling at the speed of light!

You finally get out and just in the nick of time too, one more minute in that stuffy office and you would've suffocated to death. Take a deep breath... ahhhh.. refreshing as you feel the cool, crispy air move deeply down and filling your lungs... It's HAPPY HOUR!!! The bartender disappears to make your favorite drink and you can feel the tight muscles throbbing in your neck and back... thump... thump.. thump... with each heartbeat. "Hurry up with that drink!" you quietly mutter to yourself.

Suddenly, you feel the hairs on the back of your neck rising... Your body tenses and squeeze the barstool. You sense a slight brush behind you, it didn't quite make contact, but you felt something. Before you can respond, you catch a wiff of the familiar scent, a combination of aftershave, musk and sweat...

"Ah... it's you." you smirk as a warm breath carresses your ear lobe and a pair of big, soft, firm hands wrap over your shoulders...

"You know... you're in perfect position..." the deep soft voice gently rolls out the words...

"Oh yeah? For what?" you quib in wonderment...

"For a back rub of course!"

.... AAhhhh.... and you feel the firm squeeze knead your sore tired muscles... OOOohhhh, the strong fingers rubbing the tight spots out of your neck, shoulders... the heat from the palms penetrating deeply within... :)

Of course in return you can always buy me a drink! Might get you on my good side for future back-rubs... heh, heh... ;)

pleasure and happiness are two very different things...

DannoXYZ
10-11-06, 03:52 PM
Oh, but they are so closely related intertwined. Pleasure can be physical sensations of the body, touch, feel, food, drinks, drugs which results in certain combinations of chemical cocktails running through your brain, resulting in ... happiness! Google oxytocin (http://www.google.com/search?q=oxytocin&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial) to see how our "feelings" are so directed by hormones and chemicals. Also this article was a pretty good summary: Washington Times - Women and Brains (http://www.washtimes.com/op-ed/20060918-095951-9549r.htm).

We have so much control over our moods & happiness. But it's a cause & effect thing. The moods & feelings are only the result, the "effects", of something ELSE that's happened first, and we certainly have a lot of control over the "causes" of our moods & feelings. :)

Hard call. Depends on my mood. Bikes rides are always up there. Four events when I feel the happiest are; riding by myself up in the moutains, riding to the beach with my wife, dream vacations, snuggling with the wife at movies, concerts.
