Training & Nutrition - Great site for all you fellow Gym Rats.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was Googling "Hamstring Exercise" and came across this great site (http://www.criticalbench.com/exercises/exercises.htm)!

There's a reason why pro cyclists do not look like that fella pictured in your link. Besides, that look is so early 90's.

random question-- do pro cyclists do any weightlifting for their legs or do they mostly just rely on on the bike training? i know they don't want to be too heavy. . .

And about 99% of us aren't (nor aspire to be) pro cyclists.
Proper weight training is extremely effective for staving off father time, helps to burn the fat, and can reduce chances of injury in other sports/endeavors.

Now, the site I posted, is helpful (I believe) for anyone who wishes to add WT to their fitness repertoire.

You may disagree.

Bikepacker and aikigreg have it precisley correct in regard to strength training. The site that aikigreg posted contains the book Strength Training Anatomy An absolutely superb read for specific muscle training. There is also one for women. Amazon sold and shipped both for near $15US.

I have trained cycling/Tri clients for 12 years now. I will never leave strength training out of their programs for the exact reasons Bkpkr67 posted. Father Time, k/cal expenditure, increase in power, and reduction in overall fatigue overtime in the saddle.

Yes, the pros strength train. They may not bodybuild. It is not necessary for us to BB either. They may keep it moderate; however, the ones that do ST understand how to keep their job longer, than ones that don't.

The one the OP posted is a pretty blatant ripoff of bodybuilding.com (which is a great site). EXRX.net is very nice as well.
