Forgive me shadiyah, for I have sinned.
I went to wendy's to get a cheap small fry and a bacon cheeseburger. Both a dollar. I only buy dollar items at fast food places, so I don't eat too much garbage.
I get home, take a bite, and an 8 inch black hair is in my food. Ok, great almost gagged but ok.
For the following 3 hours I have indigestion and stomach pain for quite awhile.
I hate fast food places. I hate them all.

Oh....my....
I'm glad you are finally seeing the light...the hairy light...?
That is nasty! Blech!
How about a nice juicy pear? mmmm :)
I'm going to have an apple. Even if I find a nice worm surprise it won't be as hairy as a human!
Plus I gotta take that multi vitamin.

I like oranges. :) In my backyard, I've got plum, walnut, orange and banana trees. I'm looking at grafting on lime and lemon branches onto the orange-tree and calling it a cocktail tree! :)

Mind if I wander through your yard a mix up a salad or two? ;)Sure! My peppermint and Vietnamese mint is getting out of control!!! I've also got pineapple, bell-peppers, chili-peppers, jalapenos, potatoes, spinach, some weird lettuce, roma tomatos, onions, garlic, shallots, Italian basil, Thai basil, and some intense purple basil Lots of salad possibilities!
Although my basil plants have been low-yield this year, I think I've been making more fresh pesto and spring-rolls than before. Then again, the basil seeds haven't been sprouting as much... strange... at least we're in for a very wet winter. :)
... any basil farmers lurking around here... ???

Basil farmer here. I find it surprising that you have intense purple basil, as all the purple I have grown and eaten has had a substandard flavor.

Basil farmer here. I find it surprising that you have intense purple basil, as all the purple I have grown and eaten has had a substandard flavor.I'm not sure what basil "should" taste like. As in a standard? I just notice that the purple basil has a stronger, more tangy, zesty flavor, kinda spicy. So I use some of it to liven up salads and other dishes. It's kinda like the difference between using alfafa sprouts versus radish sprouts, the purple basil adds some punch. But yeah, by itself, it's not as tasty with a full-bodied flavor like the green Italian basil.
So what's causing the lower germination-rates on my crop this year? I think I may have harvested the seeds too early? I plucked them out when the seeds turned black and planted them about 0.5cm under the surface of the soil. Very few are coming up. I noticed that receptacle/sepal was still green at the time. Should I have waited until those parts are brown and the rest of the plant is pretty much dead as well?
Mine was 120/70 a while ago. Plus my blood test results came back, cholesterol was like, 60HDL, 90 LDL. Triglycerides were 40. Resting heart rate of 40. And guess what, I eat at mcdonalds and burger king 3-4 times a week, have about a gallon of ice cream, and a huge juicy fat 16 ounce steak. Big freakin deal, I've found all kinds of crap like paper clips in non-fast food restaurants too.
I too make sure I only buy the dollar items, that way I can get like 5 burgers, some chicken nuggets, a sundae, and a soda for 10 bucks. Suckers... :p

I've got 3 or 4 varities on the edge of my herb garden. I dunno if I'd call myself a "farmer" though, since I just let it go wild and harvest what I need. One of my neighbors has a hydroponic greenhouse full of the stuff though, but it's just the plain old sweet variety. He makes good money selling it to local grocery stores.

That's what you get for buying fast food from Wendy's.
If you are going for artery cloggers, you should have bought the real thing...Jack in the Box Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger combo, or the two monster taco combo.
....sacrilage....oh dark lord of the fast food, please show mercy upon this heathen, for he doth not know of the ways of the ultimate bacon cheeseburger, he does nto know of the two cheese in use, the grase saturate meat patties, and the insane amount of bacon....he does not know the temptation of a taco where it is made, and the entire thing is deep fried. It makes my arteries cry, but they are not tears of sadness, they are tears of delightful pain.
Hey, watch the prostelizing, will ya!
I'm not a fan on fast food either. I don't even remember when I ate fast food last. Sorry about the hair though YICKY!!!!

Every once in a while when I break out the juicer, I make a juice that's about equal parts carrot and apple with a handful of spinach thrown in. Sounds kinda funny, and it looks like the water you've soaked a paintbrush in for a half hour or so, but it tastes really good, and you can just about feel when it hits your system. It could almost--definitely, ALMOST--replace coffee.

At 44 I stopped eating junk and eat nothing, with the rare exception, whole foods. BP was 140+/90+ this morning 116/68 rhr 50.
I'm just about to have my favorite mid moring snack...a green apple with chuncky almond butter.
Whenever I tuck into a junk food meal now days, I travel frequently and sometimes there is no other option, I feel lethargic and brain dead.

I too stopped eating junk food and OMG what a difference it makes. REALLY. We share the same liking for a good snack. I generally eat a green apple with Natural peanutbutter. Today I forgot the apple WAH!!!
So I'm eating the peanut butter with a banana. YUMMY. I believe people would be amazed it they just tweeked a few things in their diets . My trainer mentioned to me the other night that I'm STONGER and she is amazed cause she said its above AVERAGE. YIPPIE. :)

you know what smells really bad? a taco bell resturant. or maybe it's the wendy's. anyway, there is a wendy's and a taco bell right next to each other on 14th street. when i walk by the smell is just not natural. it doesn't even resemble the odors you would expect from a kitchen. i don't know what it is, but it always repels me.
I quit eating fried food in February, 2003. So that pretty much leaves fast food out. My kids are absolutely thrilled if we ever go to McDonalds, fact is we feel like we neglect them cuz they don't get to go there and "play."
So we break down and go a couple times of year although we don't eat. We just watch....and gag! :D
Makes you wonder what else was in that milkshake.
Or what they used to stir it.

Your garden sounds like absolute heaven. :) I would probably never leave. :p I loooove basil. I got a bunch of purple from the farmer's market, and you're right...I think it is spicier and tangier. Very good. :) Pineapple...mmmmm....we blended up some fresh pineapple with young coconut meat and its water and it was sooooo good!
I've grown basil here in Utah before, and I haven't totally gotten the hang of it. It doesn't seem to do as well as oregano or parsley. Maybe its a climate thing.

I've heard a lot about green smoothies and how amazing they are. I've had store bought ones, but I know it doesn't compare to making it yourself fresh. I really need to start incorporating these into my morning. Thanks for the recipe, I'm going to try that out! :)

Most of my rides take me by one the KFC/Taco Bell combo places. I'm usually hungry on the way back and still smells terrible. Burger King on the other hand smells great (though I don't eat there).

And the motor car magical world long since ceased to be,
When the Eve-bitten apple returned to destroy the tree.

Hardees and Burger King keep competing to see who can make a burger with the most grams of fat to clog arteries.
Too bad nobody documents which one uses the most artificial flavorings.
