i am. whenever i listen on a bikeride its always people like cradle of filth, children of bodom, agony scene, as i lay dying, atreyu, trivium, iron maiden, SOAD, all shall perish, but also some avenged sevenfold

anybody else listen 2 metal whilst out on their ride?? i find that the insanely quick drumming an awesome guitar playing makes me wanna go faster. makes it easier to get up hills as i try 2 keep up with the drum beat

I do not advocate the use of extreme riffs with direct-to-ears interfaces as a safe means of travel motivation. Your eyes are for in-front awareness, your ears are for everwhere else. Unless of course instead, you have some meaty sound system on a pannier and a car battery in your bottle cage....

Sometimes. I like to listen to more Rise Agianst and some rap to get me in the mood. Like for dirtjumping.

Well, I don't ride recreationally very much (I know, what am I doing here?). Nor do I listen to much metal, but I DO like Andrew W.K.. I don't know why, but their music seems to have a lighter side to it...like they don't take themselves totally seriously.

For example, "Ready to Die". The title sounds like they're totally hard-core, but I don't think it was meant to be serious...maybe it's the piano, or the beginning of the song, which sounds like Mario music.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Give it a listen.

Metal is all I pretty much listen to and play.

Does anyone like post-hardcore music?

there is so much good black metal and death metal and yet, with the exception of iron maiden, the bands you mentioned are crap

Well, that's because contempory 'straight' metal has always tended to simplistic, whereas the extreme subsects have always prided themselves on their techincal ability over the need to write a hook.
