So I go to replace the worn-out cassette on a mavic 571 (http://www.bikepro.com/products/hubs/hubs_mavic.html)/sup wheel with one of my many HG cassettes sitting around, and found that spline pattern is different. Not Shimano compatible. Can i pull an HG compatible freehub body off a RX100 hub I've got laying around and replace it? Or will I have to find a Shimano compatible FH body for this specific hub made by Mavic? I'm guessing the latter, since it looks like the pawl system might be proprietary. Does anyone know a source for a new freehub body?

Thats going to be a difficult thing to find. Shimano will not work. I wouldn't know where to start looking. Not much help....sorry.

Thanks for the help. I could replace the cassette with the kind that was intended for it, but those are hard to find too. I think I'd get more life out of the hubs (which roll phenomenally well) if I could find a shimano compatible freehub body. Much easier to find cassettes that way.
As I recollect, when Mavic stopped producing parts for these hubs, they offered free a new (is it called?) freebody, that would convert the Mavic cassette to Shimano gears and shifters. It was a specific part. I may be able to get a photo of it for you.
