New bar design (by Cinelli?) features wider bar tops for more hand support. This, along with the thread on double-taping, reminded me of something I had thought about a while back, "widening" the bar tops with some sort of prostheses (OK, OK, it may not be the right word, but it sounds good). It would have to be something rigid, not just padding, in order to provide support. I have thought about splitting some PVC or aluminum pipe and clamping it in place. But how to clamp it without introducing undesirable lumps, a la pipe clamps. Anyone have any ideas?
Regards,
Raymond

hmm you could use tiny zip ties with the pvc pipe... and maybe miter into the pipe to help recess the zip tie end... or maybe some contact cement ??

I would think a thin layer of electric tape would hold it in place under the bar tape.
