Triathlon - Zipp 2001 TT Bike: What's it worth?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I ended up with this bike after a trade (22'' wheels.. long story), but I'm not sure what it is worth. I'm considering keeping it, but honestly the bike may be too much for me and the roads I ride on are far from perfect.
Anyways, if you can give me an estimate on what it is worth I would appreciate it.
Below are some photos of it. Check out the warning label. :D

I see them going for about 1K.
Priceless... Mine will fall apart before I sell it.
1. Great ride (confortable)
2. Feels fast (I'm slow, so it boosts my confidence)
3. Always a head truner
My only complaint is that it's not really made for climbing long hills.
Don't get ride of it... unless you don't ride.
I tink it is worth no more than $50 tops. I am such a nice guy, so I will send you $60 + S/H to get you out of your misery ha ha ha ha......
If I found one of those, I would get it. It has the personality and innovation most bikes these days don't have. Funny how we went so far forward just to go backwards again...........

South Girls School Road?
What naughtiness is Zipp up to?
And what makes it for competition use only? Obviously that's what it's designed for, but why the warning label? Berns?
It looks a little scraped up, but still - a sweet bike for Tris and TT's. And nice wheels! (maybe swap the tyres?)

Funny thing is that Zipp did the labels as a joke. If you ever get the chance, view the tape that originally came with the frames. You can tell that they were light-hearted when they developed the bike... or the video anyway. At the end of the tape they even have a "bloopers" section that lasts for a few minutes. Kinda funny. Watching the video now is funny cause you can tell it was made in the early '90s.

I think the bikes are cool looking. What did you trade for it?
I didn't trade anything. I bought my frame back in '93 and had it built from there. I've owned it since.
I traded a set of 22'' Wheels in exchange for the bike + cash + a set of Porsche boxster wheels.
I ended up with the bad end of the deal though, because the wheels were worth more (22'' TSWs w/tires for a Porsche Cayenne/VW Toureg).
Here are some photos of the wheels:

Bah. Porsche wheels come and go. Parts with ZIPP written on them are. . . . forever.
:D
What would it cost to get the frame repainted? If I were to go that way, is there any source for replacement Zipp decals?
I think the black looks awesome, or were you going to repaint it black?
I'd repaint it the original black, because there are some rock chips.
Is it a good idea to repaint a carbon fiber frame, or does it require special techiniques or paint?
