Scale Recomendation?

Hey guys. I have been trying to track my weightloss but the scale I have is no good. It is a digital readout one. If I get on three times in a row it will some times give me three different weights varying by 1 to 3 pounds. How do some people track their weightloss by the pound? Is their scale accurate? What would you recomend? I don't want to spend much more then $50 but I don't know what scales sell for and can up my budget if it is worth it.

I have a Tanita body fat one. It's very consistent but it only shows weight in 0.5lbs intervals.

Do you have regular access to a gym or the like? They should have a pretty accurate scale around, like the one at your doctor's office.

These scales are only accurate if they get calibrated at least once a year. Look for a calibration sticker. I doubt you will find one. Even the doctors don't bother getting it calibrated.

I have this one. Cheap and very accurate so far(3 years). I never get a different reading as long as it is on a hard level surface.

I usually try to get an average reading although I know its probably not that accurate. .5 increments is not that big of a deal to me, so ill look into that one

I go to bally's total fitness gym. The scale in the locker room looks like it was thrown off their roof a couple of times.

Most of the newer Tanitas measure in 0.2 lb increments. Mine is about 4 years old, and I weigh myself once each day, taking the "best 2 out of 3" reading (re-setting it between each weigh-in).

90% of the time the first 2 readings are the same.

FWIW, is your scale on a hard surface? If it's on a carpet, that could explain the variations you're seeing.

Thinner Scale (http://www.conair.com/product_info.php?products_id=287) that measures in .2 increments. If I step on it three times I usually get the same result all three times -- unless if I pee between weigh-ins , in which case I'll weigh a little less.

It'll store readings for several users and has a body fat function.

I use a very similar looking Taylor with a BF analyzer. Got it on sale at the Walgreens down the street, so I could bring it back if it were unreliable. The scale part is very reliable and agrees with the counterbalance one at the gym, but I found the BF analyzer gimmicky and highly variable. I'm sticking to my accumeasure calipers for BF.
