I went out to dinner last night and for the first time, saw one of these bikes hanging on the restaurant wall. I had been to this establishment before, but had never sat in this section. I spent most of the evening admiring this bike. I'm wondered if they would sell it, but the manager on duty said it was part of the decorations and were not interested in getting rid of it.

I'm wondering if contacting the regional office might be an option. Any suggestions? The bike is the exactly as pictured below:

I just hate to see an old cruiser hanging on a restaurant wall when it should be ridden once in a while.

Is it actually vintage, or merely a modern replica? Plenty of replicas around these days... If you search the web for balloon tire bikes, I'm sure you'll find plenty of info on spotting originals from replicas, as well as making contacts for purchase.

Didn't think to ask and I'm not sure the people working there would know. Good suggestion to check on first. The only thing that would make me think it was geniune is the appearance that the name "Luxury Liner" wasn't crisp, almost like it had been painted in by hand. It was so high up and the interior so dark, it was hard to make out anything else.

The original Roadmaster Luxury Liners were made from 1948 to 1953. In 1998, 5,000 50th anniversary reproductions were built.

Yep, I'd bet the bike that it is a repro. But, I wouldn't mind having a repro anyway, but an original would be great.

Just Googled the name and the first one listed was an original for $295.
Sorry, it also seems to have been SOLD.
Rats, Huh?
