Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Touring Contacts

Could we have a separate board or section where people could post their email address if they are willing to be contacted by people on tours...

The contact could be for local information when folks are planning routes or even to have them stay for a couple of days saving them the cost of camping.:)

Seems to me that before going on tour the person could send a PM to anyone that might live near where they will be visiting.

Or they could post something in the Lounge or General forum telling everyone that they will be visiting a certain area and would like information about the area, make arrangements to ride with members in that area, etc.

That would work just as well... Great Idea:)

Anyone familiar with the American Motorcyclist Association's "Helping Hands" program? Volunteer participants listed resources like bike transport, repair space & tools, sleeping accomodations etc. they were willing to share with others. I don't know if it's still in existence, but it was a great program, one wort emulating.
