Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - cool rain gear?

i'm looking to buy some rain/foul weather gear. i live/ride in rainy and snowy, syracuse, ny.

i need to get some garb but don't know where to look. like most other fixed gear posers, i want my gear to have some flare. found a nice, bright-ass yellow rain shell from LL bean, but that's it.

anyone know of some online, counter-culture retailers that sell what i'm looking for?

It's anything but counter-culture, but...I...don't really care.

Counter culture retailers? Just get some ugly **** from the thrift store It's rain gear. It's gonna get all nasty anyway so who cares?

Pearl Izumi makes cool stuff. Believe it or not (and you wouldn't get it from this forum) bike culture is still counterculture, considering most folks. PI makes good bike stuff. Check their website. Optik, Zephyr, etc...not all is bright green.

The commuting forum (http://bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=20) would be a great place to check.

Edit: Although, a lot of the people there think fluorescent green anything looks good.

I don't regret once buying the Rapha softshell (http://rapha.cc/index.php?page=21), but it's expensive as hell. This Ibex jacket (http://www.ibexwear.com/F06/View_Product.php?GarmentID=601&thePhoto=../Photos/F06/1241_8990.jpg&Category=1048&CategoryLine=) looks really nice too, but it's not cheap either.

How about something with thumb holes? I know REI used to make something, but it appears, no longer...

The Rapha softshell has thumbholes. You could check out Icebreaker (http://www.icebreaker.com/site/catalog/index.html) too. A lot of their stuff has thumb holes and drop tails which are good for biking, but it's almost all wool. While not specifically for rain, wool does a fine job of keeping you warm when wet.

i live by arcteryx stuff.. little pricey, but its worth every dollar, i bought the sidewinder about a year ago and wear it all year

I have been really happy with my Mountain Hardware Cohesion Jacket (http://www.mountainhardwear.com/Product.aspx?top=1&prod=1667&cat=21&viewAll=False). Light, breathable, zippered vents for plenty of air when needed. It's meant to be an external layer, so you can add warmth with other stuff underneith it. Wear a Tshirt under it on the warmer days, a hoody, down vest, and wool scarf when it's a bit nippy. Covers far enough below my belt that I don't get water up my ass, but it's short enough that it's not a pain to wear all day.

I know I just don't get it, but style isn't the main thing I'd look for in rain gear.
