Time: 6:45 roll [UPDATED]
Route: PCHish
Mileage: 38ish miles and under 2000 feet of climbing [UPDATED]
Meeting place: Magnolia and Banning in HB [UPDATED]
Ride leader: Mr. Serious [UPDATED]

UPDATED:

Route length...40ish with about 2000ft of climbing. Is that more helpful?

The plan is to leave from Magnolia/Banning and take PCH south to Main Beach in Laguna, then turn around and come back up to Newport Coast from the PCH side, then turn around and do Newport Coast from the Bonita side, right on San Joaquin, right on Macarthur, left on Ford/Eastbluff, then take Back Bay to PCH and back up to Magnolia. If time allows we can extend the route north on PCH. Lunch at Los Primos Cantina on Brookhurst and Adams and we have to be outta there by noon or else...

I'm out. Melissa has a baby shower (no, not for her!) in LA on Sunday. I'll probably go with her and ride my fixie around LA, read the paper, and drink some coffee.

I'd go if the start time was 7:30 - 8:00 ish. 6:45 is way too early for a Sunday. (Too much like a weekday:))

Sorry Jim! My rides have to be early so I can get back to my motherly duties before the husband goes to work. Oh...and I like riding early. :D

I'm sure that you speedy riders will pass us...how far south are you going? BTW...we met a lady from Lightning Velo today, her name was Patty and both she and her husband ride with your club.

Yeah, I can do that saturday (I don't think I'm going on the MTB ride after all). By Sunday I'll be restless, and will probably be looking forward to an easy fixie ride with some new scenery.

Plus I can try out my fancy new inside-the-car bikerack -- a nice chunk of wood with two quick release hitches screwed on.

Total price .... ~$23.50.

Do you still need to use old rags to separate the bikes?

Damn. If I knew, I coulda saved you the trip.

FYI, the hitches are on sale for $9.99 at Performance (50% off). The 4-foot slab of wood is $5.75 at Home Dept (thanks to Tracy for the tip!). Additional nominal charges for screws.

Oh, and everything (including bikes!) at Performance is now 15% off for team performance members.

And mount the hitches at an angle so you can turn the fork/bars and get the bikes closer together.

I was gonna make 10 of them at the same time, and market them under the name:

BuRRitoRACK

Or something equally absurd.

Think you can mock up a few nice multi-color logos for me?

Uh oh. I mounted them at an angle, but the angle is 90 degrees, unfortunately.

Yeah, my description is vague. I mean, they are parallel with the rear bumper. Just like you would put them on if you weren't thinking a damn bit.

... forgot to tell ya... try to find something soft (okay, I'm still using garage rags) on the ends of the board so it doesn't scuff up the inside of your car. ... that would be bad..
