I have a polar S120, the kind that does zones and records exercise data. I have disabled the alarm in the setup menu. However, when I hit start twice, thus enabling record mode, a little alarm symbol appears on the left side. Then the thing beeps for every heart beat I make. What gives? I have been through this menu and the instructions, but there appears to be no other additional alarm disabler. This noise was driving me nuts, so now I just have it show me heart rate without recording to stop the beeping. Polar does not appear to have any phone number or email for support.
Anyone had a similar problem?
Hi,
press and hold the lower right button for a few secs; works for me. Mine is an older model, but it's worth a try. Check the manual again.

I held the upper-left button and it turned it off. Your advice led me down the path that fixed it. Thanks so much!!!

Hey, flyefisher... I have the same Polar S120...
Have you gotten the Recovery function to work?
Theoretically, in order for that to kick in, you have to press & hold the red button on the face of the wrist unit. If you press the same button quickly, it records a lap.
I've tried many times to actuate the Recovery timer, but it records a lap nearly every time instead, no matter how hard I press the darn button. The only two times that the Recovery thing has worked, I was running. Would be nice if it was more reliable in that regard.
Any thoughts?
